HISTOLOGICAL AND IMMUNOHISTOCHEMICAL PECULIARITIES OF PLACENTAS IN WOMEN WITH PERINATAL LOSSES IN HISTORY

Journal Title: INTERNATIONAL ACADEMY JOURNAL "Web of Scholar" - Year 2018, Vol 5, Issue 6

Abstract

The aim of the study: To evaluate the histological and immunohistochemical characteristics of placentas in women with perinatal losses in history. Materials and methods. 99 pregnant women with complicated perinatal history were screened. To study the condition of the "mother-placenta-fetus" system, an ultrasound examination with doplerometry was performed. An early neonatal period was analyzed. A macroscopic, histological and immunohistochemical study of placentas with monoclonal mice antibodies to CD-31-PECAM1 and VEGF was performed. Results. Ultrasound signs of placental dysfunction in pregnant women with perinatal losses in history were found significantly more frequent than in women of control group. Moderate and severe asphyxia was more often observed in newborns from mothers with complicated obstetric anamnesis (p<0.05). The histological examination revealed signs of placental dysfunction and dissociative placental development in women with perinatal losses in history. The immunohistochemical study determined that the expression area of CD31 in placenta was significantly wider in patients with a history of perinatal losses than in the control group (p<0.05). In women with complicated obstetric anamnesis the decreased area of VEGF expression was observed in syncytiotrophoblast, endothelial cells of terminal villi and increased in endothelial cells of stem and intermediate villi (p<0.05). Conclusions. For women with complicated obstetric anamnesis, the development of placental dysfunction is a characteristic, which is confirmed by histological and immunohistochemical studies of placental tissue.
