Historical consciousness as a factor of demyfologizing historical culture: philosophical and methodological aspect

Abstract
The article analyses the philosophical and methodological problems of studying historical consciousness as a factor of demythologizing historical culture. It reveals the role of social mythology in public life, the value of constructive and destructive mythology to historical culture. The article considers the questions of the possibilities and boundaries of historical consciousness in the process of demythologizing the past.
