Abstract
The aim of this article is to determine the problems encountered in language and style used in the presentation of sermons and sermons given in mosques and to make suggestions for their elimination. Sermons and sermons that have been given continuously since the first years of Islam in mosques, which are non-formal religious education institutions, are the means of religious education which contribute to the religious education and training of the people. The fact that sermons and sermons are seen as a source of religious education today also reveals that these institutions should be solved if there are negativities. Sermons and sermons in mosques are carried out by religious officials. Officers need some competence in performing these tasks. One of these competencies is “language and style competence. As in all verbal communication processes, language and style are important in mosque-centered religious communication processes. Selecting the appropriate language and style for the message and transferring it to the recipient is of particular importance in terms of the effectiveness of communication and the delivery of the message to its purpose. Lack of language and style proficiency causes communication to be ineffective.
