Identifiability of the multivariate normal by the maximum and the minimum
Journal Title: Surveys in Mathematics and its Applications - Year 2010, Vol 5, Issue 0
Abstract
In this paper, we have discussed theoretical problems in statistics on identification of parameters of a non-singular multi-variate normal when only either the distribution of the maximum or the distribution of the minimum is known.

Existence and nonexistence results for second-order Neumann boundary value problem
In this paper some existence and nonexistence results for positive solutions are obtained for second-order boundary value problem <CENTER>-u"+Mu=f(t,u), t∈(0,1) </CENTER>with Neumann boundary conditions <C...
On a recurrence relation of generalized Mittag-Leffler function
The principal aim of this paper is to investigate a recurrence relation and an integral representation of generalized Mittag-Leffler function Eα ,β γ ,q (z). In the end sever...
Some fixed point results in Menger spaces using a control function
Here we prove a probabilistic contraction mapping principle in Menger spaces. This is in line with research in fixed point theory using control functions which was initiated by Khan et al. [Bull. Austral. Math. Soc., 30(...
Unequal access to public healthcare facilities: theory and measurement revisited
Adequate coverage and efficiency of public health services are high priorities for sustainable growth and development. In many countries, public healthcare continues to fall short of demand, and remains unevenly distribu...
Optimal Alternative to the Akima's Method of Smooth Interpolation Applied in Diabetology
It is presented a new method of cubic piecewise smooth interpolation applied to experimental data obtained by glycemic profile for diabetics. This method is applied to create a soft useful in clinical diabetology. The me...
