Identification and Classification Knowledge Problems and Submission of Mechanisms for Knowledge Transfer in Project Time Management (Case study: Iranian Gas Industry)

Journal Title: International Research Journal of Applied and Basic Sciences - Year 2013, Vol 5, Issue 7

Abstract

One of the main problems of organizations and industries is the lack of knowledge in extracting and documentation from knowledge owners during projects implementation. This study aimed at identifying some areas of time management problems in project management which has roots relevant to poor knowledge management. For this purpose, by using the IDEF0 method and project management standard, first, knowledge flows relevant to time management sub processes was extracted, then knowledge problems associated with time management according to Project Management Body Of Knowledge (PMBOK) were indentified. Result of this study is finding the main reasons of projects’ delay that helps project managers to improve performance skills and assess their knowledge management projects in the field of time management. Then introduce the appropriate mechanisms in order to select the best strategies related to each problem. At the end, mechanisms are prioritized by AHP method.
