IMPACT OF AGRI-ENVIRONMENTAL PROGRAMME ON JOB SATISFACTION OF FARMERS

Abstract

The aim of the study was to determine the satisfaction of farmers with their work and the assessment of the financial situation at the farm. The analysis was based on the survey conducted in the Łeczna district among farmers applying for direct payments. The study involved 152 farms. These were farms participating in the AEP and others. Questions on the form have been developed using Likert scale. There was no statistically significant difference in the assessment of job satisfaction and the financial situation of farms between the two analyzed groups. It was found that the size of the farm and the financial situation at the farm are significantly positively correlated with work satisfaction. Off−farm income was declared by 73% of households benefitting from AEP, and only 59% of the others. The analysis shows that off-farm income negatively influences the farmer’s satisfaction with agricultural work.
