IMPACT OF CONTRACEPTIVE USE UPON WOMEN’S HEALTH STATUS ATTENDING HEALTH FAMILY PLANNING CENTERS IN KUT CITY

Abstract
Background: Contraceptives have been widely used since the mid-19th century for a reason including the prevention of unwanted pregnancy. In family planning (FP), contraception is the main component of health services and it is beneficial to the health and well-being of women, men, children and families And their communities. Objective To identify the effect of using of contraception on physical, psychological and social women health,. Subject and methods: A cross-sectional study on impact of contraceptive methods use was conducted among women collected using structured and in-depth interview questionnaires. Information gathered included four dominoes socio-demographic characteristics, reproductive information and medical health history, information on the use of contraception method and impact of contraception method on women's health (physical, psychological and social impact) done at health centers in kut city. The study conducted from1st December 2016 to 28 February 2017, The sample size was (238) women attainting to family planning units. Results It was found that (20-24) years the age at marriage were (42.0%), (19- 24%) were getting the first pregnancy (56.3%), 1\3 of the sample were gravida (3- 4) and (60.5%) of the sample using contraception pills. the purpose of using contraception was mostly to reduce number of children (49.8%), according to physical impact of contraception it was found that fatigue show high assessment. The others were between moderate to low, regarding to psychological impact of contraception it was found positive impact in the patient with high assessment. And in social impact it was showed moderate assessment in both factors.
