INCAS QUICK THERMAL TEST SHOCK INSTALLATION - QTS1
Journal Title: INCAS BULLETIN - Year 2009, Vol 1, Issue 2
Abstract
From the assembly of the wear factors which act on the “hot parts” of the turbo engines, respectively on the protective coatings, the thermal shock acts the most perturbing. The behavior of the materials at thermal shock is evaluated at present on unique inst manufacturer, protective coatings included as well as of those specialized in testing. The thermal test shock installation conceived by INCAS and achieved in collaboration with INCDT COMOTI for testing of the materials at thermal shock, especially those from the aerospatial domain, represents a versatile construction, in progress in comparison with those known. The QTS1 - quick thermal test shock installation assures with reproducible results the material evaluation in the heating and cooling speed conditions up to 100°C/s at heating and 60ºC/s at cooling, situations which correspond to the extreme functional conditions of the turbo engines, space shuttle, cogenerative systems, etc.

Concurrent engineering in designing a system for sensing gas leaks in harsh space environment
Leak monitoring is an essential operation that must be taken into consideration while making the design of a spatial vehicle. In order to make these vehicles function correctly in space and to avoid disasters, one needs...
Deorbiting Upper-Stages in LEO at EOM using Solar Sails
This paper analyzes the possibility of deorbiting a launch vehicle upper-stage at end-of-mission from low Earth orbit through the use of a solar sail. Different solar sail sizes are taken into account. The analysis is ma...
Integral LQR Control of a Star-Shaped Octorotor
The paper starts by presenting the model of the star-shaped octorotor. LQR control is chosen to stabilize the attitude and altitude of the vehicle. Waypoint navigation is also implemented. Numerical simulations demonstra...
Comparison of critical behaviors of elliptic and hyperbolic quadratic algebraic equations with variable coefficients
A comparison of the behaviours of the elliptic with those of hyperbolic quadratic algebraic equations (QAEs) with free and linear variable coefficients, in vicinity of their critical surfaces is made. The critic values o...
