Influence of 6-Benzylaminopurine on the in vitro behavior of Henequen plants obtained from embryos
Journal Title: Biotecnología Vegetal - Year 2002, Vol 2, Issue 4
Abstract
In the acclimatization phase, a group of derived plants from henequen embryos, germinated in a medium with different concentrations of 6 BAP, was evaluated. In these results it is evidenced that the content of 6 BAP in the germination medium determined the behaviour of the vitroplants. The lower concentrations provoked an significative increase in the height and width of the base from plants, superior surviver percentage and minor stomata opening. These results suggest that high concentations of 6 BAP prevents the development of the acclimatization phase in derived plants from henequen embryos.

In vitro establishment of axillary buds of Colocasia esculenta Schott clone ‘INIVIT MC-2001’
The new Colocacia esculenta Schott clone ‘INIVIT MC-2001’, obtained by the INIVIT breeding program, presented high percentages of losses in the in vitro establishment phase, mainly by microbial contamination. The aim of...
Effect of the planting material on the incidence of dry rot in Colocasia esculenta (L.) Schott and Xanthosoma spp.
The cocoyam (Xanthosoma spp. and Colocasia esculenta) is a monocot plant with vegetative propagation. This work was developed with the aim of determining the effect of the planting material type on the incidence of dry...
