Informational Systems and Information Technology in Small and Medium Enterprises

Abstract
In recent years the importance and role of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in industrial and developing countries is increasing. In the past two decades with the advent of new technologies in production and communication, developments in industrial capacity and methods of production and distribution and organizational structure of firms has emerged that increased significance of small and medium units. Therefore small and medium industries are considered as a suitable Context to establish competitiveness and powerful industries. Information and communication technology, evolved form information technology(IT), is a new technology that affect all social, eeconomic, political, military and cultural aspects. One of the factors that has been identified as a factor affecting on admission steps of information and communication technology by Small and Medium Enterprises is access and trust to consultation and specialists knowledge in the field of information and communication technology. Using IT is one of the basic foundation of development and expansion of small and medium enterprises in the world. Application of IT beside the globalization process has significantly affected small and medium companies. These companies due to financial, informational and technical limitations requires spesific supports in the cultural, training, human resources, marketing issues and business consultant areas. In this study, after a glimpse on the small and medium enterprises, and information and communication technology, the role of ICT and its consultants in SMBs are discussed.
