Abstract

Background. The purpose of the article is to reveal the essence and peculiarities of innovative University ecosystems, determine the prerequisites, conditions and mechanisms of their development in Ukraine. The aim of the article is to reveal the essence and peculiarities of innovative University ecosystems, determine the prerequisites, conditions and mechanisms of their development in Ukraine. Results. The role of entrepreneurial and innovative model of development of universities has been substantiated. It defined the main task of forming the innovation ecosystem of the University – creating innovation-active environment for the development of knowledge-intensive business through the commercialization of results of scientific research and development. Key components of the innovation ecosystem of the University have been proposed, among them are creative resource, innovative ideas, innovative entrepreneurial experience sources of financing and innovative network that binds them together and facilitates technology transfer. Challenges, problems and directions of development of innovation ecosystems in Ukraine in conditions of implementation of the strategy of European integration and joining the University in innovative space have been justified. Conceptual model of the organizational platform of functioning and development of the innovation ecosystem of the University has been proposed. The problems for the efficient formation of the innovation ecosystem of universities in Ukraine have been identified, among them are: terminated innovation chain- between science and industry is missing an important link, small businesses are ready to take on the risky early stage commercialization; support for startups in the University environment is complicated by the lack of state funding for establishing and supporting business incubators; inadequate knowledge of the engineering Sciences in the field of Economics and entrepreneurship, excessive attention to material infrastructure to the detriment of non-material services, attracting skilled human resources and real projects; weak involvement of scientific and University centers into enterprise. As a result of the research issue of the existence and peculiarities of functioning of the innovation ecosystem of the University revealed that the term "innovation ecosystem" has every right to exist. It does not contradict and does not preclude the importance of other innovative structures, but rather complements existing approaches, allows a fresh look at the reasons for the effectiveness of the innovative process. To generate a design of innovation ecosystem in Ukraine in the future should focus on the creation of a modern network system of University science based on the concept of "digital manufacturing". Conclusion. Mechanisms to encourage deployment at the University of a full cycle of innovative developments (including through the establishment for such purposes of special funds) should be developed and implemented and the instruments and institutions supporting innovation should be effectively used.
