Insulin therapy : lessons from shrimad bhagavad gita

Journal Title: Journal of the Indian Medical Association - Year 2018, Vol 116, Issue 3

Abstract

Diabetes mellitus is a common disease. One of the most important challenges faced by medical fraternity is a large proportion of diabetic patients remain uncontrolled due to unde-ruse of insulin. This is because of lack of motivation amongst physicians (physician apathy) as well as patients for the use of insulin. This calls for better counselling resources at all levels to ensure timely and proper insulinisation of persons with diabetes. Present article compiles few verses from Shrimad Bhagavad Gita which can aid in breaking this physician as well as patient level insulin resistance.
