INTRODUCTION AND THE LIST OF 1017 (AD 1608) ŞER‘IYYE RECORDS OF AYNTAB CITY

Abstract
The most important sources of Ottoman town history are şer’iyye records. To use the records, which reveal wide range of information on the era they belong, is still poses a problem. One of the ways of overcoming this problem is to make a list of all these records. In this study, it was aimed to contribute to current studies ongoing in this area by introducing and making a list of one of the şer’iyye records, which is very important in terms of finding out on town history.
