INVESTIGATION OF DIFFUSE INTERSTELLAR BANDS OF ORGANIC MOLECULES IN THE SPECTRA OF CEPHEID STARS
Journal Title: Odessa Astronomical Publications - Year 2015, Vol 28, Issue 2
Abstract
We describe an effective method of investigation of the Diffuse Interstellar Bands (DIBs) in the spectra of Cepheid stars. DIBs are believed to originate from the absorption of such carriers as polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in the interstellar gaseous clouds located between an observer and the stars whose spectra were recorded. We performed a detailed consideration of the DIB at 6613 A in our sample of spectra for more than 250 stars. The quantitative characteristics of the DIB absorption features will be studied in connection with the interstellar absorption data, and after that, they will be used in the mapping of the Galactic disc.

CONNECTION BETWEEN THE SHOCK WAVE SPEED AND II TYPE RADIO BURSTS DRIFT VELOCITY
The substantial arguments of strong connection between shock wave speed and drift velocity of II type radio bursts in 25-180 MHz range are presented. The studied sample has included 112 proton events that were accompanie...
EFFECTS OF THE MASS TRANSFER AND PRESENCE OF THE THIRD COMPONENTS IN CLOSE BINARY STELLAR SYSTEMS
In our research, we have studied 6 close binary stellar systems which are eclipsing variables of β Lyrae and W Ursae Majoris types of variability. We have studied their O-C curves. To build them, we used...
STELLAR ACTIVITY CYCLES: WHY DO WE NEED IN THE LONG-TERM MEASUREMENTS OF THE MAGNETIC FIELD?
Solution of the two important problems requires a study of long-term behavior of the magnetic field on stars with nondegenerate matter: firstly, to define the role of the magnetic field on different evolutionary stages of sta...
