RESULTS: 52.9% of the participants had a work accident, and 70.6% (n=142) of the participants made a report. Knowing what to do after risky contact with toxic medical wastes are statistically higher in research assistant doctors of three years or more than others (p:0.015). The state of knowing what to do after contact with blood and body fluids was statistically significant low in the first two years of residency (p:0.001). CONCLUSIONS: Although 90.5% of the participants received occupational health and safety training, it was determined that their knowledge about toxic medical wastes, contact with blood and body fluids was not sufficient. Occupational health and safety knowledge and skills will be increased with the revision of the training, where theory and practice are blended, skill-building and prioritized issues are predominant.
