Abstract
The article is devoted to the Ukrainian compiler, scribe and talented illustrator of manuscript collections Ivan Yuha- sevych, who during the years 1741 – 1814 lived in the Mukachеvo diocese (founded in 1771 by Pope Clement XIV). Today, these lands are divided between the Transcarpathian region Ukraine, eastern lands of Slovakia, Romania, Hungary. The multiculturality of this region was reflected in the liturgical and paraliturgical creativity, the outlook of compilers and scribes of manuscript collections (irmolohion, songwriter). The main attention is paid to the manuscript inheritance of the outstanding Trans Carpathian compiler of religious and musical collections Ivan Yuhasevych, his Ukrainian (Russian) origin, membership in the Greek Catholic Church. False allegations regarding his Slovak nationality and belonging to Slovak culture have been refuted. At various times, I. Yuhasevych's rewritten illustrated collections have fallen into the archival institutions of Ukraine and Slovakia (Uzhhorod, Mukachevo, Swydnyk, Prague, Bratislava, Kyiv), private collections. The estimation of the scientific works of various researchers who was interested in the church-musical culture of the region from the beginning of the twentieth century is given. and to this day (Yulian Yavors`kyі, Oleksa Myshanych, Yuriy Yasinovs`kyі, Yuriy Medvedyk, Peter Žeňuch, Ihor Zadorozhnyі, Odarka Sopko (Dolgosh) and other). Also, the contribution of I. Yuhasevych to the preservation and popularization of the church and musical culture of the Mukachevo diocese has been evaluated in a concise way; indicated for further research paths and so on. The materials of his manuscript collections are important sources for modern textological studies, primarily spiritual songs, their Ukrainian and Central European context.
