Jakość opieki pielęgniarskiej w ocenie pacjentów po zabiegach operacyjnych wykonanych w znieczuleniu podpajęczynówkowym

Abstract

Introduction. Spinal anesthesia is a very effective and commonly used type of anesthesia, its analgesic effect is often utilized postoperatively. Assessment of quality of care provided by a medical institution will amount to subjective perception of patient's satisfaction according to his / her own criteria. Medical institutions should care about the improvement of quality of provided services, because the lack of involvement in this sphere translates directly into the safety, health and life of patients. Aim. The goal of this research was aimed at understanding patient's assessment of quality of nursing care after surgery performed under spinal anesthesia. Materials and methods. Research was conducted among 60 patients in three surgical departments of 10th Military Clinical Hospital with the Polyclinic SP ZOZ in Bydgoszcz, in course of which spinal anesthesia was used during surgery. The method of research was a diagnostic survey and estimation method, whereas the technique - questionnaire and technique of the scale of respect. In the above tests, our own questionnaire and standardized questionnaire - the Newcastle Scale were used. Results. The highest-assessed aspect of nursing care among subjects after procedures performed under spinal anesthesia was subjective assessment of nursing care (75.24%), then experience of nursing care (74.98%), then global assessment of stay (73.10%). On the last place was the satisfaction of nursing care (64.80%) Conclusions. The confrontation of own research with research of other authors made it possible to draw following conclusions: 1. The highest-assessed aspect of nursing care was the experience of nursing care for patients after subarachnoid anesthesia. The lowest aspect assessed was the satisfaction of nursing care. 2. Sociodemographic variables did not have a significant impact on the differences in the level of respondents satisfaction of the nursing care implemented after subarachnoid anesthesia.
