KNOWLEDGE MANAGEMENT IN THE LIGHT OF SOCIOLOGICAL DETERMINANTS

Abstract
This article presents significant problems concerning knowledge management. It indicates a non-standard definition of this phrase. In its introductory part it treats knowledge as an axiological value. The article also focuses on the phenomena of knowledge depreciation and devaluation. In its core part, it deals with pathological and economic obstacles hindering the process of deepening one’s knowledge. The closing part of the article comprises remarks on knowledge awards and indicates that it is necessary to introduce a new subject to the Polish education system - knowledge studies.
