Abstract

The article discloses the meaning of the concept of “the introductory corrective course” and defines its purposes, objectives and characteristics. It also contains the requirements for the modern introductory corrective course that are based on the comparative analysis of similar courses available. The article contains a definition of phonetic competence, lists its components and describes the specific ways of its formation. The author offers a subsystem of exercises whose purpose is the formation of phonetic competence during the introductory communicative corrective course.
