Abstract
It is proved, the problem of reproduction in the current criminal procedure legislation of those differences that are peculiar to special types of exemption from criminal liability. The necessity, based on the analysis of the current and previous legislation, is made to improve the criminal procedural legislation regarding the application of special types of exemption from criminal liability. It is proved that the expediency of singling out a certain norm that would carry out a special regulatory regulation of the application of special types of exemption from criminal liability determined a specific mechanism for closing criminal proceedings in these cases
