LABORATORY DIAGNOSTICS FOR SYSTEMIC AUTOIMMUNE DISEASES WITH PULMONARY INVOLVEMENT

Journal Title: Pulmonologija ir alergologija - Year 2017, Vol 1, Issue 2

Abstract

Most of the systemic autoimmune diseases are related to multiorgan involvement. As expected in such a disease, the entire pulmonary system is vulnerable to injury. In this article, we present systemic autoimmune diseases which can cause lung damage. In such disease as systemic lupus erythematosus, rheumatoid arthritis, systemic sclerosis (scleroderma), polymyositis, dermatomyositis, vasculitis, Sjögren, Goodpasture and antiphospholipid syndrome, early laboratory diagnostics of autoantibodies is very important. We also review the possibilities of implementation of indirect immunofluorescence method in laboratory testing for autoantibodies.
