Ladybirds associated with Pomegranate trees in Lorestan province of Iran (Coleoptera: Coccinellidae)

Abstract

During a faunistic survery of Ladybirds associated with pomegranate trees in 2012-13 a total of 11 species from 10 genera, 4 tribe and 3 subfamilies were collected. The adult ladybird specimens on the Pomegranate trees were collected randomly by hand-held aspirator, hand picking and light trapping. The adult specimens of each species were carefully studied for all details under binocular microscope. The insects were separated into different species with the help of available keys and External characters plus characteristics of the male and female genitalia. 1. Adalia bipunctata (Linnaeus ,1758) 2. Adalia decempunctata (Linnaeus ,1758) 3. Chilocorus bipustulatus (Linnaeus ,1758) 4. Coccinella septempunctata (Linnaeus, 1758) 5. Psyllobora vigintiduopunctata (Linnaeus, 1758) 6. Exochomus undulatus (Linnaeus, 1758) 7. Hippodamia variegata (Goeze, 1777) 8. Propylea quatuordecimpuctata (Linnaeus, 1758) 9. Oenopia conglobata (Linnaeus, 1758) 10. Scymnus syriacus (Marseul ,1868) 11. Stethorus gilvifrons (Mulsant, 1850)
