L’IRRIGATION ET LE RISQUE DE POLLUTION SALINE. EXEMPLE DES EAUX SOUTERRAINES DE L’AQUIFERE MIOCENE DE LA PLAINE D’EL MA EL ABIOD

Abstract

In El Ma El Abiod region (Algeria), the anthropic activities deployed in the plain have important effects on hydraulic, hydrochimic and biological balances which condition the socio-economic future of the area. Pollution in the sector of study is caused by the thermal, chemical and organic discharges by wet process or atmospheric. The rejections contained in water can disturb the physical development of the plants by the absorption of the water which acts on the osmotic process, or chemically by metabolic reactions such as those caused by the components toxic.A hydrochimic analysis was carried out in 110 wells and drillings distributed on the whole of the plain of El Ma El Abiod. These analyses related to the concentrations in major elements in water of the aquifer of sands miocenes; the period of sampling was distributed over four years (2000- 2004). The interpretation of these analyses will make it possible to establish the charts of aptitude of water the irrigation of the area.
