Landslide susceptibility in the Arieş Middle Basin – focus on Roşia Montană mining area<br />
Journal Title: Advances in Environmental Sciences - International Journal of the Bioflux Society - Year 2010, Vol 2, Issue 1
Abstract
The paper assesses landslide susceptibility in the Arieş middle basin, with focus on the Roşia Montană mining perimeter. The study uses the existing Romanian methodology for landslide susceptibility mapping. The results illustrate the risk level of landslide occurrence: most of the Arieş basin is characterized by insignificant and low values of landslide susceptibility, while medium values are found in the mining perimeters. The Roşia Montană mining perimeter presents disequilibria at morphodynamic level especially in the area of the mining facilities, enhancing the occurrence of landslides risk, with ignificant impacts on the regional safety and security of mining works.

Geographic phenetic variation in the golden apple snail, Pomacea canaliculata (Ampullariidae) based on geometric approaches to morphometrics
This study was conducted to describe and explain morphological variation within and among populations of the golden apple snail (Pomacea canaliculata) using the geometric morphometric approach. The foundation of this res...
Structural research in the natural beech forest, situated at the eastern limit (Humosu Old Growth Beech Forest, Iași county, Romania).
The paper points out the stability of the natural forest due to its structural complexity, reached through milennia of evolution. The „Humosu Old Growth Beech Forest” situated between 450-500m altitude in the Moldavian P...
Crayfish species (Crustacea: Decapoda) from the border area Romania –Republic of Moldova.
Identification of Romanian crayfish species is usually a facile job but sometimes there can appear errors and confusions. This short note is an erratum and addendum to the paper „Conservation status of protected or rare...
Determination of host-associated variability in the shape of the mandible of white rice stem borer Scirpophaga innotata (Lepidoptera: Pyralidae
Host-plant modifications are known to promote high taxonomic diversity and ecomorphological disparity among its insect-herbivores. Studies on mouthpart morphology specifically the mandible are central to understanding th...
