Journal Title: Analele Universitatii Dunarea de Jos din Galati, Fascicula XVII, Medicina - Year 2017, Vol 2, Issue 2
Abstract
Evaluation of laser efficacy antimicrobial photodynamic therapy as adjuvant therapy in reducing inflammation in patients with gingivitis induced exclusively by bacterial plaque. The study included 29 patients, 12 men, 17 women. The inclusion criteria were: the informed consent of all subjects over the age of 18 years, the correct technique of self-control of the bacterial plaque. Laser therapy used in conjunction with classical therapy for the treatment of gingivitis induced exclusively by the bacterial plaque has halved healing time compared to classical therapy. The results were also conclusive for reversible hyperplasic forms of classical treatments. It is a therapy that is easily accepted and tolerated by patients regardless of age, with minimal postoperative discomfort and no side effects.
