Lateral Torsional Buckling of Corrugated I-Beam with Sinusoidal Openings
Journal Title: International Journal for Research in Applied Science and Engineering Technology (IJRASET) - Year 2016, Vol 4, Issue 9
Abstract
In this thesis, the study of lateral torsional buckling of castellated I beam with trapezoidally corrugated web will be investigated. By utilizing the non linear analysis and FE models to characterize the load- deflection response of castellated I beam in lateral torsional buckling state The required three dimensional finite element models develop by using ANSYS v.16.2, FE software. Castellated steel beam with corrugated web are lightweight sections with high strength as compared to simply corrugated web. The use of castellated I beam suppress the cost of material by applying more efficient cross sectional shapes made from standard sinusoidal profile in combination with significant weight saving. That also causes smooth stress distribution.

Analytical Study by Varying the Parameters of Edge Stiffeners and Splice Plate used in Gusset Plate
Gusset plates are used to connect diagonal members to a beam and a column, they are widely used in bridges to link the truss member at member conjunction. Gusset plates are subjected to either tensile or compressive loa...
A Comparative Study of Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) of Multilayer ZNS and CDS Thin Films
The first thin solid films were obtained by electrolysis in 1864, B White Bunsen and Grover obtained metallic film in the year 1852, by thermal evaporation on explosion of a current carrying metal wire. The usefulness o...
Design of Multiple Input DC-DC Converters
A new two-input DC-DC converter suitable to draw power from two different dc sources feeding a common dc-bus is presented in this paper. This is a two-switch converter belongs to fifth-order family and performs bucking...
