LEARNING II AS A STRATEGIC RESOURCE OF SOCIETY
Journal Title: Вісник Львівського університету - Year 2017, Vol 14, Issue
Abstract
The article research the relationship between logical types of learning, Socratic Method and social system. The modern educational system is constructed in such way that to realize the learning I is the most elementary logical type of learning, which is based on simple memorization and reproduction of information. “Learning I is change in specificity of response by correction of errors of choice within a set of alternatives” [4, p. 187]. Constant reproduction of this type of training leads to the fact that, due to economic crises, states should spend money to help the unemployed and to retrain them. In fact, states are engaged in investing in unemployment, whereas this money can be invested in learning II. This is a type of learning in which we can transfer knowledge from one subject area to another or from one science to another. “Learning II is change in the process of Learning I, e.g., a corrective change in the set of alternatives from which choice is made, or it is a change in how the sequence of experience is punctuated” [4, p. 187]. One of the effective tools that allow to transform the learning I in the learning II is the Socratic Method. This Method is an inductive approach, in which through asking questions it is possible to move from concrete examples to laws, concepts and principles. In combination of deductive reasoning and abductive reasoning, the effectiveness of the Socratic Method will increase.
