LESSONS OF AFIN DEMOCRACY FOR MODERN UKRAINE

Abstract
The article is devoted to highlighting the peculiarities of Athenian democracy, its role in the modern Euro-Atlantic model of society. The main aspects of our time are covered, the analysis of the idea of civil society in modern Ukraine, the prospects for its implementation. Attention is drawn to the historical lessons of Athenian democ- racy, which will facilitate convergence of legal systems of Ukraine and the European continent.
