Load Characteristics of B-type Metro Vehicle Bogie Frame

Journal Title: Urban Mass Transit - Year 2024, Vol 27, Issue 7

Abstract

Objective The international standards adopted in metro vehicle design and verification in China do not fully align with the actual vehicle operating conditions, resulting in the phenomenon of fatigue cracks in some metro vehicle bogie frames before reaching the specified service mileage. It is therefore necessary to study the load characteristics of metro vehicle bogie frames under actual operating conditions. Method Based on long-term tracking test data of B-type metro vehicles, a combination of statistical calculation and STFT (short-time Fourier transform) analysis is used to study the variation law of bogie frame loads from three aspects of line condition, vehicle operation state and passenger load. Result & Conclusion The main load of the bogie frame is highly correlated with line conditions, while local load of the frame are closely related to the vehicle operation state. There is a significant negative linear correlation between damper load and passenger load, while other bogie frame loads, except for lateral rolling loads, show a positive linear correlation with passenger load.
