Abstract
Cehegín has several high quality coal extraction quarries that make the municipality famous. Industrial exploitation is relatively recent, but its quality has been known for a longer time. In the 18th century its fame began in the country, and by the 20th century it was already on the international scene. The article also has a documentary appendix on marble.
