Identification and Localization of β-D-Glucosidase from Two Typical Oenococcus oeni Strains
Journal Title: Polish Journal of Microbiology - Year 2016, Vol 65, Issue 2
Abstract
β-D-glucosidase (βG) gene from Oenococcus oeni SD-2a and 31MBR was cloned, sequenced and analyzed, also intracellular βG of the two strains was further localized. Results showed that βG gene of the two strains was in high homology (> 99%) to reported βG gene, confirming both strains possess βG activity on molecular. Intracellular βG of SD-2a is mainly soluble protein, existing most in cytoplasm and some in periplasm. While for 31MBR, intracellular βG is mainly insoluble protein existing in cytoplasmic membrane. This study provides basic information for further study on the metabolic mechanism of βG from O. oeni SD-2a and 31MBR.

CRISPR/Cas systems in prokaryotes
Prokaryotic organisms possess numerous strategies that enable survival in hostile conditions. Among others, these conditions include the invasion of foreign nucleic acids such as bacteriophages and plasmids. The clu...
Relationship between measles outbreaks based on genetic analysis of measles virus genomes detected in patients in Poland between 2006 and 2012.T
This study describes the molecular characterization of 56 MeV strains obtained from clinical samples collected from 56 patients in Poland from 2006 to 2012. MeV RNA samples were analysed according to variability of C-ter...
Non-invasive Diagnostic of Helicobacter pylori in Stools by Nested-qPCR
The aim of this study was to develop a non-invasive diagnostic test for the detection of Helicobacter pylori in stool samples from digestive symptomatic patients, using a new protocol of nested-qPCR. A total of 143 patie...

Simultaneous Biodegradation of Phenol and n-Hexadecane by Cryogel Immobilized Biosurfactant Producing Strain Rhodococcus wratislawiensis BN38
The capability of the biosurfactant-producing strain Rhodococcus wratislawiensis BN38 to mineralize both aromatic and aliphatic xenobiotics was proved. During semicontinuous cultivation 11 g/l phenol was completely degra...
