Magnetic Workholdings: Recent Advances and Trends
Journal Title: RECENT - Year 2012, Vol 13, Issue 34
Abstract
In the last decade new innovations like permanent-electro magnets and permanent magnets have greatly increased the applicability of the magnetic fixtures. An attempt at summarizing and analyzing the recent development in the field of the magnetic workholdings and especially of the electro-permanent magnetic fixtures is made.

Optimization of the Mechanical Structure of Industrial Robots Used in Welding Operations, Using the Finite Element Method
This paper is about choosing the optimum variant, from the constructive-geometrical and material points of view, for a structure element within the construction of an industrial robot. We have used finite elements analys...
The Role of Infrastructure in Economic Development
The role of the business sector in local economic development derives from the fact that businesses, by exploiting local resources and creating new jobs, contribute to the diversification and economic development as well...
Analyzing the Real Area of Contact Wear Using ANOVA
Austempering is a relatively new treatment in the field of ductile iron casting. This heat treatment was found to improve the ductile irons at high levels of strength, rendering ductile iron castings superior to steel fo...
Biosensors Based on Surface Plasmon Resonance Phenomenon: A Theoretical Review
Surface Plasmon’s are waves that propagate along the surface on a conductor, and have been studied intensively. The phenomenon has been utilized in studies of the properties of surfaces and thin films devices and, in par...
Collision Avoidance Control Using Null Space Criteria
A new strategy to on-line collision-avoidance of the redundant robots with obstacles is presented. The strategy allows the use of redundant degrees of freedom such that a manipulator can avoid obstacles while tracking th...
