MAIN ASPECTS AND DIRECTIONS OF THE WORK OF THE AUTHORIZED VERKHOVNA RADA OF UKRAINE ON PROTECTION OF HUMAN RIGHTS AND FREEDOMS AND CITIZENS IN UKRAINE

Abstract
The article describes the main aspects and directions of activity of the Parliamentary Commissioner for Human Rights in the area of work – countering torture, cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment, preventing and combating discrimination, ensuring the right to life, the right to liberty and security of person, the right to a fair trial, the right to participate in the administration of state affairs and in elections, the right to privacy. The plan and the strategy of activity till 2020 are elucidated.
