MAIN RESEARCH OBJECTIVES FOR THE EVALUATION OF DISPOSABLE RESOURCES OF THERAPEUTIC WATER, EXEMPLIFIED BY THE BUSKO-ZDRÓJ–SOLEC-ZDRÓJ AREA
Journal Title: Biuletyn Państwowego Instytutu Geologicznego - Year 2015, Vol 465, Issue 465
Abstract
The discovery of saline sulphidic water in the Busko-Zdrój and Solec-Zdrój region was associated with drilling for salt in the 18th and 19th centuries. Hydrochemical and balneological research of waters encountered during that work confirmed the presence of therapeutic water in this area. The admissible volume of individual water types and their genesis have been defined. Currently, the Carpathian Branch of the Polish Geological Institute – National Research Institute records the disposable resources of therapeutic water based on the geological project approved by the Ministry of Environment. In addition to the standard methods, new investigative methods are also applied, which have not been used so far in such types of projects. The study results accomplished to date (including hydrogeological and environmental mapping) as well as results of physico-chemical and isotopic analyses of water samples supported by a numerical model will be used to create a comprehensive documentation of the disposable resources of sulphidic therapeutic water in the Busko-Zdrój–Solec-Zdrój region. Satellite and aerial radar images were used for the identification of tectonic features and the interpretation of spatial distribution of discontinuities. Gravimetric studies performed to record the disposable resources of therapeutic water were used to determine the exact siting and the number of new hydrogeological test boreholes. Ultimately, drilling of six boreholes to a depth ranging from 330.0 to 650.0 m has been considered.

THE OCCURRENCE AND PROSPECTIVE RESOURCES OF NICKEL ORES IN POLAND
In Poland, the only one documented nickel deposit is the saprolitic-type deposit in Szklary Lower Silesia, abandoned in 1983. Its documented balance resources are (b and c1 categories) ca. 117 thousands Mg of metallic n...
RARE EARTH ELEMENTS IN SELECTED CLAY DEPOSITS OF THE POLISH LOWLAND (NEOGENE)
The paper presents the content of rare earth elements in the Neogene deposits of clay raw materials in the Polish Lowland. Rare earths have been studied in red and green raw clays, and in carbonate nodules. Based on the...

MODELOWANIE PRZEPŁYWU WÓD PODZIEMNYCH METODAMI RÓŻNIC SKOŃCZONYCH I ELEMENTÓW SKOŃCZONYCH – PORÓWNAWCZE BADANIA POLIGONOWE
Filtracja wód podziemnych jest procesem skomplikowanym, o którym decydują naturalne czynniki środowiskowe (m.in. warunki hydrogeologiczne) oraz oddziaływania antropogeniczne (np. pobory wód, odwadniania, piętrzenia). Wi...
EVALUATION OF THERMAL ENERGY FOR GROUNDWATER IN THE CENOZOIC AQUIFER OF THE FORE-SUDETIC BLOCK
The temperature of groundwater was used to produce hydrothermal maps of the Cenozoic aquifer in the Fore-Sudetic Block and to evaluate water thermal energy with special emphasis on the municipal groundwater intake. Based...
