Management of Life-threatening Refractory Chylothorax and Chylopericardium due to Lymphangiomatosis
Journal Title: American Journal of Sonography - Year 2018, Vol 1, Issue 2
Abstract
Lymphangiomatosis is a rare disorder. Chylous effusion and osteolytic lesions are diagnostic clues. Radiographic findings can be suggestive of the disease, but the final confirmatory diagnosis is made histologically. We report a case of an infant who presented with life threatening refractory chylothorax and chylopericardium due to diffuse pulmonary lymphangiomatosis leading to critical condition with challenging management. With multi-disciplinary approach the child improved and was discharged home with satisfactory outcome.

Acoustic Streaming A Diagnostic Clue to Diagnosing Testicular Teratoma
Teratomatous tissue is commonly seen in a variety of malignant testicular tumors, and while the exact determination of testicular tumor subtypes heavily relies on pathologic diagnosis, ultrasound remains the gold standar...

Inguinal Hernia Resulting in Testicular Ischemia
Absence of blood flow in the testicle is classically thought to be secondary to testicular torsion, however other etiologies of absent testicular blood flow have been described (Lin et al.). We present an unusual case of...
Cord Hemangioma Complicated by Umbilical Vein Rupture; What We Missed on Color Doppler
Umbilical cord hemangiomas are rare tumors of the umbilical cord. Doppler ultrasound has been shown to be useful in the diagnosis of cord hemangioma and evaluation of arterial blood flow through the mass. In this study,...
