Management of productive enterprises’ development in conditions of economic crisis
Journal Title: Економіка. Фінанси. Право - Year 2018, Vol 6, Issue
Abstract
Introduction. Conditions for the development of domestic manufacturing enterprises, over the past 10 years, have changed significantly. Enterprises need to pay more attention to external economic and market factors. Planning for further activity becomes impossible for a long-term period. The development of strategic plans becomes more detailed and justified. Today, the maximum possible are forecasts and plans for a period of up to 3 years with a constant adjustment for the current year. Management decisions require promptness, quick response to changes in business conditions. All these issues are certainly topical and important for domestic manufacturing enterprises. Despite the variety of recommendations of researchers and economists, a whole series of issues related to the management of enterprise development in crisis conditions are not sufficiently substantiated and studied. Thus, the work of the authors is timely, and the direction of the research is topical and in demand. Purpose. It is to develop recommendations for adjusting the direction of development of domestic enterprises, taking into account the factors of the market and the external environment. Results. Since the first wave of the economic crisis of 2008, domestic enterprises have faced a difficult choice of further activities and development. A large number of enterprises could not withstand the new economic conditions, the management turned out to be unable to work in the conditions of the rapid changes. Despite the fact that a number of enterprises have chosen a "survival" strategy in a crisis, some enterprises have tried to plan development. The managers understood that the "survival" strategy can only be applied for a very short period of the time, and can lead to an opposite negative trend. At best - to stagnation, at worst - will lead to a reduction of the market share. Conclusions. In times of crisis, production enterprises can’t always retain their positions and often refuse to plan for further development. This position of the leadership is erroneous, because the economic crisis must be perceived not only as a new problem, but as new opportunities and a challenge that leads to action.
