«MANON LESCAUT OF TURDEY» BY VSEVOLOD PETROV: THE STORY OF THE CHARM OF FORBIDDEN LOVE (FROM THE RECESSES OF MILITARY CLASSICS)

Abstract
For the first time the story “Manon Lescaut of Turdey” by Vs Petrov is analysed in the Ukraininan literary studies. It was written in the time of post-war “mini literary thaw period” in 1946 as a challenge to morals and “Soviet civilization” literature. Headline complex-dedication, title, subtitle and epigraph that produce the unity of XVIII and XX centuries as cultural epochs with the chain reaction of the literary and artistic problematicity are under consideration.
