MATHEMATICAL MODELING OF THE EXTERNAL FACTORS INFLUENCE ON THE MARGIN OF STRENGTH WHILE SHAFT SINKING

Abstract

Purpose. To improve structural and technological parameters of vertical shafts as an important issue in coal industry. To estimate the margin of strength of the vertical shaft lining considering the change of its thickness due to irregularities in the outer contour and displacements of the formwork and the different strength of the concrete. It is necessary to consider both deterministic and random factors whose impact to the final strength of the shaft lining can be different when designing a support. Methodology. At the initial stage of the research a standard technique for determining the thickness of the concrete lining was used. At the second stage, a group method of data handling was applied to evaluate the influence of technological factors on the strength of the monolithic concrete shaft lining. Mathematical models were obtained involving well proved criteria of structural identification and artificial neural networks with training on various parts of the initial sample. Results. The calculation of the safety factor of the lining strength along the depth of the shaft using the standard technique for determining the thickness of the concrete lining has been carried out. The actual thickness of the shaft lining according to the full-scale measurements when shaft sinking and laboratory test results of concrete strength are taken into account while modelling. Originality. The influence of deviation of the rock contour and strength of concrete on the safety factor of the shaft lining has been proved. Other structural and technological factors do not exert systematic influence. Practical value. The obtained results allow to minimize the area of the destructed rocks and save concrete while shaft sinking. The obtained models should be included in the shaft lining technology to provide the required margin of support strength. References 11, figure 5, table 2.
