Mea summa psychiatriae
Journal Title: Psychoterapia - Year 2012, Vol 161, Issue 2
Abstract
A rationale of this essay was an attempt to summarise my personal almost half-a-century experience in training, clinical work, teaching and research in psychiatry. I tried to emphasise my obligations to my teachers, people who had introduced me into the essentials of sciences and knowledge psychiatry takes from to build understanding of mental health disorders and to develop methods of prevention, treatment and rehabilitation for people diagnosed as sufferer from mental health disorders. Using my own experience I tried to demonstrate meanders of psychiatric nosography and classifications. And, once more turn attention to senseless radical division between „psychological” and „biological” in psychiatry.
