Mechanika teoretyczna w zbiorach zadań z fizyki I. E. Irodowa

Abstract
In the article, 12 editions of collections of problems in general physics by Russian author I. E. Irodov are discussed. In the books problems in theoretical mechanics are specially emphasized. Level of the problems in the individual editions is extremely high and most of problems are difficult to solve. Irodov's books are extremely popular in the world literature, especially in the recent years. In Poland they are not known and difficult to access. In the paper a brief historical outline of the beginnings of theoretical mechanics is also given.
