METHODS FOR ASSESSING THE INFORMATION TECHNOLOGIES AND COMMUNICATION IMPACT ON COMPANIES
Journal Title: Journal of Applied Quantitative Methods - Year 2013, Vol 8, Issue 3
Abstract
The determination, identification and evaluation of the impact of Information Technologies and Communication use in companies are complex issues that require quantitative and qualitative approaches that take into account one or at most two parameters. Most of the empirical studies focused on the impact of Information Technologies and Communication on the economy are statistical approaches that take in consideration only one performance criteria of the company, such as Information Technologies impact on productivity or the impact of Information Technologies on investments. The impact study approach can have an a priori and a posteriori perspective. Before the introduction of Information Technologies it is necessary to make some predictions or estimates. After the introduction of Information Technologies, the actual assessment takes into account the effects. The research proposes a methodology for assessing the impact of Information Technologies taking in consideration a priori and a posteriori aspects. Also, it is developed a metrics for the evaluation the quantitative impact assessment such as Information Technologies endowment of labor, and efficiency of funds invested in Information Technologies. The methodology consists by an algorithm that can be implemented in companies. The calculating the proposed indicators help quantify the effect of applying Information Technologies and establishing their effectiveness.

On Measuring Software Complexity
In this paper we measure one internal measure of software products, namely software complexity. We present one method to determine the software complexity proposed in literature and we try to validate the method empirica...
STATISTICAL MODELS TO MEASURE CORPORATE REPUTATION
Reputation can be defined as how an entity (private or public) is perceived by each of its stakeholder groups and reputation risk as the risk that an event will negatively influence stakeholder perceptions. Since reputat...
Generalized Burr-Hatke Equation as Generator of a Homographic Failure Rate
Starting from a generalized form of Burr-Hatke differential equation namely dϕ / dx = u(x) ⋅ϕ [sup]a[/sup] + v(x) ⋅ϕ [sup]b[/sup] (see for details [18]), we obtain – for peculiar choices of u, v, a and b – as a solutio...
The Audit of The Information Technologies & Communication Projects Developed by Students
The modern world is undergoing a fundamental transformation characterized by a lot of challenges, dynamism, globalization, and the increasing influence of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs). These new tech...
Fuzzy Probabilistic Models for Structural Serviceability
Structural serviceability is of uttermost importance for the overall performance of many common structures. As a rule, both the load effects (serviceability indicators due to loading) and admissible constraints (ensuring...
