Micro-Processor based Improved Ultrasonic Direction and Range Finder

Abstract

This document gives formatting instructions for authors preparing papers for publication in the Proceedings of an IEEE conference.  The authors must follow the instructions given in the document for the papers to be published.  You can use this document as both an instruction set and as a template into which you can type your own text. In this paper we present a novel microprocessor based improved ultrasonic direction and range finder combining both extended operational range as well as improved sensing resolution. The improved range related performance includes minimal measurement range of only few centimeters while the maximal range can be hundreds of meters and even more than that. The obtained measurement accuracy is 1.5cm and the range resolution is 1mm. The measurements can be performed in 3-D space.
