Microbial life of the deep saline biosphere
Journal Title: JOURNAL OF ADVANCES IN BIOLOGY - Year 2016, Vol 9, Issue 4
Abstract
Transfer microbiological studies under the surface of the Earth to exploration of deep intraterrestrial microbial life is important to allows exceeding the current framework of science. Microbial life is determined by physical, geochemical, and biological factors such as the availability of liquid water, energy, nutrients, and trace elements. Additionally, conditions including ambient temperature, pH, salinity, and pressure interact with biological systems to define the space for life. Recent studies have shown the presence and activity of cells in deep marine sediments and in the continental deep biosphere. Characterizing the bacterial community composition and recognition of diversity of microorganisms may play an important role in biogeochemical carbon cycling and potential biotechnological application of these microorganisms.

Surveillance ecological study of cellular responsesin three marine edible bivalve species to Cd present in their marine habitat,Mediterranean sea in Alexandria, Egypt.
Coastal habitats experience large fluctuations of environmental factors such as salinity; they also serve as the natural sinks for trace metals. Bivalves are exposed to the elevated concentrations of metals in water that...
Antifungal Activities and Phytochemical Screening of Seeds, Leaves and Callus (hypocotyls and cotyledons ) Extracts of Jatropha curcas L.
The research was under taken to investigate the antifungal activity of seeds , leaves and callus extracts of Jatropha curcas L. , using methanol and petroleum ether solvents. Callus was induced from hypocotyls and cotyle...

Lutjanus spp. (Teleostei, Lutjanidae) rarely recorded as hosts of gonad-infecting species of Philometra Costa, 1845 (Nematoda: Philometridae). Here, gravid females of Philometra madai Quiazon, Yoshinaga & Ogawa, 2008...
VISUAL SEXUAL STIMULATION THROUGH THE AMYGDALA MAY AFFECT THE INDIVIDUALS EMOTIONAL STATE
The nature of sexual stimulation in the brain is not well established. In this regard, the role of emotional brain (which is called as the amygdaloid complex) needs to be evaluated more precisely. The amygdala is a silen...
