MINING CONTROL SYSTEMS AND DISTRIBUTED AUTOMATION
Journal Title: Journal of Machine Construction and Maintenance - Year 2018, Vol 110, Issue 3
Abstract
Distributed monitoring, control, and automation systems, often able to adapt and learn, are more widely used in industrial practice. Due to constantly increasing needs of safety and reliability of exploitation the area of smart systems applications in the Polish hard coal mining sector is also growing. At the KOMAG Institute of Mining Technology, the development and implementation of distributed control and automation systems in mining machines are carried out. To successfully develop these systems, the CAN communication bus, made as an intrinsically safe circuit, is used. The implementation of a distributed structure and an intrinsically safe CAN bus has a number of advantages, such as flexibility and the possibility of expansion (open systems). The publication presents selected problems related to the projects carried out by the KOMAG Institute of Mining Technology in cooperation with KOPEX MACHINERY S.A., JSW S.A. and Gabrypol Sp. J.

TUNGSTEN DOPED TiB2 COATINGS OBTAINED BY MAGNETRON SPUTTERING
The aim of the work was to investigate the possibilities of shaping the properties of TiB2 coatings by doping with tungsten, which create hard boron phases (e.g., WB2, WB4, and W2B5). The coatings were produced by a DC m...
LOADS EXPERIENCED BY LOAD-BEARING COMPONENTS OF MINE HOIST INSTALLATIONS DUE TO RANDOM IRREGULARITIES AND MISALIGNMENTS OF THE GUIDE STRING
Report data from periodic overhauls of skips and cages operated in one underground mine in Poland indicate that the majority of registered defects of load-bearing elements include broken wires and cracks developing in lo...
MULTIFUNCTIONAL INTERPHASES IN ELECTROSTATIC COATING OF ELECTRICALLY NON-CONDUCTIVE MATERIALS
Solvent-based or waterborne coatings commonly used in surface finishing of plastic or composite-based products exhibit very low spray transfer efficiency, typically not exceeding 30–35%. Powder coatings, an attractive 10...
PROBLEMS OF THE COMPENSATION OF CENTRIFUGAL FORCE IN LATHE CHUCKS
Modern machining technology facilitates mechanical machining at high spindle speeds, which determines the use of machining lathe chucks that guarantee the correct clamping force of the workpiece. The work...
ANTIBACTERIAL PROPERTIES OF POlYPROPYLENE PVD-COATED WITH COPPER OXIDE
Microbial biofilm formation called “bio-fouling” causes many both epidemiological as well as technological problems by increasing material and energy demand. Due to the fact of growing microbial resistance, currently use...
