Journal Title: Вісник Кременчуцького національного університету імені Михайла Остроградського - Year 2017, Vol 1, Issue 107
Abstract
Purpose. To development of mathematical models that will reveal socio-economic determinants that decide the health of the population of Ukraine for the development of prior interventions in the healthcare system. Methodology. Methods of research are based on the principles of mathematical statistics, demography, sociology and medicine. The starting point for the study was the author's sociological survey of the Ukrainian population for the purpose of identify-ing the state of its health and the determinants that designate it. The sample of this survey is 1,200 Ukrainians aged 18 and over, representative of gender, age, region and size of settlement. The estimation of the influence of socio-economic determinants on the state of health of the population has been carried out with the help of microsimulation modeling. Results. The current problems of statistical accounting of population health in Ukraine have been estimated. Based on the microdata of the author's survey, a set of statistical models has been constructed that reflects the interconnection between indicators of the population health and the main determinants. Strategic directions for improvement of socio-economic determinants and strengthening of the responsibility of the population for their own health have been out-lined. Originality. The specificity of this work is the application of microsimulation modeling methods for assessing the impact of socio-economic determinants on the health of the population of Ukraine. Practical value. The results of the study provide an opportunity to identify the causes of unsatisfactory state of population health, including its individ-ual socio-economic and demographic groups. This will serve as the basis for developing public health policy measures.
