Modelling of Wind Farms and Analysis of Effects of Wind Farms on Transmission System
Journal Title: Gazi Üniversitesi Fen Bilimleri Dergisi Part C: Tasarım ve Teknoloji - Year 2017, Vol 5, Issue 3
Abstract
In recent years, the energy demand in Turkey and the world is increasing day by day in parallel with the population growth and the developments experienced in technology. Renewable energy resources are rapidly spreading all over the world due to the fact that they do not need any raw materials, the maintenance and operation costs are cheap, they cause no toxic gas emissions and they are never-ending. The maximum attention should be paid to the planning studies in the power system for the quality and continuous transfer of the generated energy to the end user. In the studying of “power system planning”, different softwares and simulations are used in different countries. TEİAS (Turkish Electricity Transmission Co.) is the transmission system operator in Turkey and it is processing it’s system analysis by means of PSS/E program which is developed by Siemens. By using PSS/E program; load flow analysis, short circuit analysis, dynamic simulations of power system, optimal power flow and wind power modellings can be done. In this study, a sample wind plant named Şamlı WPP (Wind Power Plant) which is located in Balıkesir, will be modelled. Productions of Şamlı in different scenarios and effects of these productions onto this system (loading, load flow, bus voltage and etc.) will be analyzed. Furthermore, in reference time period of Şamlı; 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9th harmonic analysis will be done and suggestions will be given for the harmonic problems.

The Effect of Heat Treatments on Alloying of Pre-mixed Al + 4.5 wt. % Cu Powders
In this study, 4.5 wt. % Cu powder was added to Al powder and mixed for 45 minutes to produce premixed metal powders. Premixed powders were compacted by cold pressing at 20 MPa. After that these samples were pressed at 5...
Comparing Crisp and Fuzzy DEA Approaches for The Launch Vehicle Selection Problem of A Communication Satellite Operator
In space industry, launch vehicle selection for a satellite is a critical managerial and technical decision making problem. Depending on the selected launch vehicle, launch cost can vary from 20 % to 50 % of the total co...
Design, Manufacturing and Experimental Investigation of Different Types of Solar Cooker
In this study, the performances of the solar cookers produced in different types in Ankara conditions were examined. Two different types of experiment were carried out as water and potato. Water experiments were done in...
Design and Numerical Analysis of a Double-Tube Magnetorheological Shock Absorber for Vehicle Seat Suspension Systems
In scissors-type suspension mechanisms of the driver's seats of vehicles such as tractors, trucks and buses, conventional double-tube shock absorbers are often used as dampers due to the length of the course. The damping...
Artificial Neural Networks Based Inverse Kinematics Solution and Simulation of a Six Degree of Freedom Lighting Manipulator
Inverse kinematics problem of a robot manipulator is calculation of joint variables of the manipulator. Inverse kinematic is a challenging problem of robots. The inverse kinematics in robotic is the determination of join...
