Modern search of the Ukrainian music and drama theater in the early 20th century

Abstract
Purpose of the work. The article studies the specifics of the national, aesthetic and artistic features of the modernist search of the Ukrainian music and drama theater in the context of European art trends of the early 20th century. The research methodology consists in the use of historical-cultural, comparative and art methods. This methodological approach allows us to investigate the specific features of the formation of the modern genre and style palette of Ukrainian theater drama on ethnic grounds. Scientific novelty consists in the analysis of national, aesthetic and artistic features of the modernist searches of the Ukrainian music and drama theater in the context of the development of European artistic intentions of the early 20th century. Conclusions. Modernist search of outstanding national theatrical personalities contributed to the national self-affirmation, preservation of cultural identity and enriched Ukrainian theatrical culture with a variety of forms oriented towards European worldview trends.
