MODERNIZATION OF INDUSTRIAL DEVELOPMENT IN THE CONDITIONS OF CRISIS ECONOMIC PROCESSES

Abstract

The article considers the vectors of modernization of industrial development in conditions of crisis processes that take place in today's Ukrainian economy. It was noted that one of the priorities of industrial policy should be the development and implementation of innovations and the formation of investment demand for domestic products. Industrial policy, which is now haphazardly carried out in Ukraine, is inefficient and does not focus on national interests, which leads to the de-industrialization of the country. In defining the main objective of industrial policy at the present stage it is appropriate to emphasize the provision of sustainable growth of the gross domestic product. The development model of industry specializing in the export of low-tech and raw materials products should be considered hopeless. In today's conditions, the most acute problem for Ukraine is to reduce the competitiveness of its potential, which leads to obtaining loss-making results from the activities of processing enterprises and reducing the size of export potential. State industrial policy should be aimed at stimulating the development of cooperation of large enterprises with small and medium enterprises on a subcontract basis, promotion of the formation of competitive inter-branch cluster associations, the core of which will be large enterprises. The attention is focused on the fact that taking into account the negative experience of previous years should be the basis for the effective implementation of industrial policy in the system of general macroeconomic stabilization in Ukraine. The ultimate goal of modernizing industrial development should be to increase the competitiveness of the national economy in the medium and long-term perspectives, while simultaneously increasing the level of the state’s economic security.
