Modernization of the monument of industrial architecture on the example of the building of the champagne wine factory in Odessa

Abstract

In October, 1899 the factory of the champagne vine making «Henry Rederer» was opened in Odessa. The project of the factory was developed by the French architect Sharl' Boysh. The area of the overhead basement practically was not used for a long time. The objective of the research was restoration of the functional purpose of this part of the basement. It was decided to use the overhead basement for storage of raw material wine. 42 metallic containers with 2,4 m diameter, 6,0 m long were mounted. Loading of containers was carried out in five stages according to the developed scheme. This scheme provided the even sinking of building foundations. The total sinking of the building was 1,4 cm. The difference of sinking of separate parts of the building did not exceed 1,0 mm. Loading of containers and subsequent unloading was conducted three times, that enabled to obtain stabilizing of the total sinking of the building. The resulted method can be used for control of sinking of foundations at a cyclic loading and unloading of structural elements of similar buildings.
