Abstract
Pilgrimage tourism is part of religious tourism. More than 200 million pilgrims annually spend their time on pilgrimage, most of them are Christians. Motivation of participants to pilgrimage tourism is mostly spiritual in nature. Our work analyzes the motivation of participants in the pilgrimage tourism,we are concentrating on in three pilgrimage sites in Central Slovakia (Stare Hory, Rajecká Lesna, Živčáková). Our work defines the structure of motivation of pilgrims and characterizes partial spiritual motivational impulses.
